I support this project. The stated goal of the EIED grant program is to develop low carbon energy infrastructure, and the MI Healthy Climate Plan calls for Michigan to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, with a prioritization on actions that will provide the most rapid gains in GHG reductions. Additionally, many local governments here in Michigan have set even more ambitious goals that will help move our state to carbon neutrality in an equitable manner. But achieving these goals can be difficult for these local governments and other similar entities as they do not have the financial resources that are available to larger entities, such as large corporations that report profits in the hundreds of millions of dollars annually. Therefore, funds from this grant should go towards projects like this one. Through this project, Shelby Charter Township will be able to reduce their carbon emissions through EVs and EV infrastructure. This is something greatly needed and will also help others as a case study for what they can do to improve their own operations. This is perfectly in line with the stated goal of the EIED grant program, and thus should strongly be considered for funding.

I am in support of this project. Many local governments have ambitious GHG reduction goals that are focused on equity, but it can be difficult for many of them to achieve their GHG reduction goals since they do not have the same financial resources as large corporations. However, with EIED grant program funding, the Shelby Charter Township would be able to plan for EV charging while also considering energy reduction and green infrastructure. This aligns with the stated goal of the EIED grant program to develop low carbon infrastructure and would likely make it easier for other similar communities to follow suite. Therefore, this project should be strongly considered for funding.

We support this project and its work to decarbonize the transportation sector. We also support the tie to equity and the focus on ensuring no one is left out of the EV transition.

I am supportive of this project. Vehicle electrification is necessary in order to reduce community wide greenhouse gasses, and is directly inline with the goals of the EIED grant program and MI Healthy Climate plan.
